These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Orive journaling and mood coaching service ("Service") operated by Orive and available at orive.io. By using Orive, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Orive is an AI-powered journaling tool designed to support personal reflection and self-awareness. It is expressly not a substitute for:

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Orive. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Orive is not intended for minors. If you are located in a jurisdiction where the minimum age for digital services is higher than 18, you must meet that age requirement.
When you use Orive, you provide personal information including your name, email address, and journal entries. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
You retain ownership of your journal entries and personal data. By using the Service, you grant Orive a limited license to process your data solely for the purpose of delivering the Service, as described in Orive's Privacy Policy.
You agree to use Orive only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
Orive uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized reflections and insights in response to your journal entries. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:
Orive's AI may identify indicators of emotional distress or crisis in your journal entries. In such cases, Orive may send you an email with mental health resources and notify the Orive team so a human can follow up.
This feature is a supplementary safeguard only. It does not constitute emergency services. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency services.
Orive is currently available to beta users at no charge. When paid plans are introduced, fees, billing terms, and refund policies will be communicated clearly before any charge is made. You will not be billed without your explicit prior consent.
All content, design, code, and materials on orive.io — excluding your personal journal entries — are the intellectual property of Orive. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without Orive's prior written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Orive shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service. This includes any loss of data, emotional distress, or reliance on AI-generated content.
Orive's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to Orive in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $10 CAD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability for certain damages. In such cases, the limitations above apply to you only to the extent permitted by law.
Orive reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if Orive determines you have violated these Terms or if Orive discontinues the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada. For users located in the United States, where mandatory local consumer protection laws apply, those laws will also be taken into account. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the jurisdiction of the applicable Canadian courts.
Orive may revise these Terms from time to time. When Orive do, Orive will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, Orive will notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
