Effective: April 13, 2026 Jurisdiction: Canada & United States

Orive ("Orive," "Orive," or "Orive's") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how Orive collects, use, store, and protect your data when you use the Orive journaling and mood coaching service (the "Service") at orive.io.

By using Orive, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information Orive Collect

Orive collects only what is necessary to deliver the Service. When you use Orive, Orive collects:

  • Name — provided by you at the start of each session
  • Email address — used to deliver your reflection and future communications
  • Journal entries — the text you share during your session
  • Mood score — the numerical rating you provide (1–10)
  • Session theme and sentiment — identified through AI analysis of your entry
  • Timestamp — the date and time of your session
  • AI-generated content — the reflection and insights generated in response to your entry

Orive does not collect payment information directly. If payment processing is introduced, it will be handled by a certified third-party provider and governed by their own privacy policy.

How Orive Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to operate and improve the Service. Specifically, Orive uses it to:

  • Deliver your personalized reflection email after each session

  • Improve the quality of AI-generated responses over time

Orive does not sell your personal information. Orive does not use your journal entries for advertising. Orive does not build profiles of you for commercial resale.

Data Storage and Retention

Your session data is stored in Airtable, a secure third-party database platform. Orive retains your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting Orive at support@orive.io. Orive will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Orive does not share your personal information with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Orive uses the following service providers solely to operate the Service:

  • AI processing — to generate your personalized reflection
  • Database hosting — to securely store your session data
  • Email delivery — to send your reflection and communications
  • Web hosting — to serve the Orive application
  • Automation infrastructure — to connect the above services

Each provider operates under their own privacy policy and data processing agreements. Orive may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal order.

Crisis Detection

Orive's AI analyzes journal entries for indicators of emotional distress or crisis. If such indicators are detected, Orive may:

  • Send you an email containing mental health resources and crisis hotline numbers
  • Notify the Orive team so a human may follow up personally

Orive will never share crisis-flagged data with third parties, employers, insurers, or government agencies without your explicit consent — except where Orive is required to do so by applicable law.

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights:

  • Canadian residents (PIPEDA) — right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information
